Abstract.
In the article the issues of professional competence formation of future doctors in the course of the Latin language teaching are considered. The author grounds the idea that in the process of professional training the academic discipline "The Latin language and fundamentals of medical terminology" favours the development of language and terminological culture of a future doctor, the formation of intellectual potential, ability to think in a creative way, to solve professional tasks.
