Abstract.
In the article the functions of costume components in the construction of the "new human" ideal in early Soviet national poetry are denoted. The confrontation of the old and the new is showed in the most visible way in the context of woman's costume. The undertaken research indicates not only the peculiarities of the ideal construction but also outlines the gender nuances of the comprehension of the Kabardian poetry of the early Soviet period.
