HISTORY AND THE PRESENT IN A. K. GLADKOV'S PLAY "LONG LONG AGO"

Abstract.
The play "Long Long Ago" belongs to the corpus of texts created in the 1930-1940s as variations on the topics from the Russian history. The playwright A. K. Gladkov constructed his heroic comedy on the references to the works of the Russian classical literature, giving preference not to the adherence to facts but to the adherence to the historical ideals common both for the War of 1812 and for the present. This article is devoted to the analysis of the cultural references and similarities expressed in addition in details and plot reminiscences taken the place in many respects according to the author's message of the realia of the described historical period.
