Abstract.
The object of the research of this article - artistic detail - is one of the important problems of the modern literary criticism. In the world and Azerbaijanian literary criticism there is a great number of theoretical propositions concerning an artistic detail. They analyze a detail, investigate the common and distinctive features of details and clarifications. There are two types of an artistic detail: detail-clarification and detail-symbol. On the basis of the analysis of literary materials the paper investigates a verbal detail, a portrait detail, a landscape detail, a psychological detail. At the same time the special attention is paid to the possibility for transforming an artistic detail into a symbol. The researcher identifies the authors of the period of 1993-2005 who frequently expressed their thoughts and feelings by means of details-symbols.
