Abstract.
In the article the author analyzes the peculiarities of conceptualization of Russian and English in consciousness of their native speakers on the basis of recurrent metaphorical expressions in the English-language and Russian-language discourses, and this allows identifying the conceptual metaphors they contain. Similarities and differences in functioning conceptual metaphors and the specificity of linguistic means used for their representation are shown.
