Abstract.
Arabic borrowings in fiction reveal the distinctive features of the British and Arabic self-consciousness. The aspiration of British to present a lot of the most talented and uncommon texts of the Arab literature in the most adequate translation into English from the stylistics and pragmatics point of view is connected with it.
