Abstract.
The article examines the symbolist text representing the formation of “Chekhov’s myth” in the sphere of poetics, subjects and motives which allows approaching the understanding of how the development from realism to symbolism was carried out in the history of the Russian literature. As so as the declared in the memoirs, letters, manifests attitude to A. P. Chekhov of the representatives of the literature of the Silver Age is often disagrees with the artistic practice, the author focuses on a literary work - the story by P. S. Solovyova (Allegro) “Niece”. This piece of literature is introduced into scientific use for the first time.
