Abstract.
The article analyses the means of forming the sentences with double negation in languages of different structures. The comparative analysis of the ways of forming the sentences with double negation in the Russian and Avarian languages allows deeper understanding the nature of language universals that are the category of modality in the languages of different structures and revealing the similar and distinctive features when making double negation.
