Abstract.
The article reveals the multiplicity of intertextual connections between L. Andreyev’s story “Buyanikha” and Y. Buida’s story “The Miracle of Buyanikha”. The identity of the characters’ names is the basis of the complex web of the semantic lines and the heroines’ characteristics. The deep meanings of the stories are related to the marriage-funeral complex representing the concepts of life and death. Influence of L. Andreyev’s story extends to the whole book of stories by Y. Buida “The Prussian Bride”.
