EXTRALINGUISTIC ASPECT OF BORROWINGS ETYMOLOGIZING

Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem of borrowings etymologizing in particular to the significance of extralinguistic aspect of its research. The analysis of the strata of the vocabulary which is often borrowed from one language to another is suggested, the importance of knowledge of historical and cultural realia by an etymologist is emphasized. The author points out the necessity for the analysis of informal signs as an important condition for the ascertainment of the correct etymology of the word.
