Abstract. The article presents the means by which the movable and fixed holidays of a church calendar may be named in the Arkhangelsk dialects. Analysis of a dialect material testifies that in the territory of Arkhangelsk function a number of one-word lexemes and descriptive constructions which not only identify the mobility or fixedness of the holidays but also represent the key conceptions of the dialect speakers: conception about a holiday as a living being and “abnormality" of the absence of a fixed place on the calendar.
