INFLUENCE OF PRIORITY PRINCIPLE ON CHOICE OF WAYS OF EXPRESSING CAUSAL EVENTFULNESS IN THE RUSSIAN AND GERMAN LANGUAGES

Abstract.
The article studies the dependence of the ways of expressing causality in the Russian and German languages on the hierarchy of absolute priority strategies. Priority strategies emphasize and intensify the most significant (in terms of communicative aspect) components of the meaning in the semantics of causal statements (causal and event components) and weaken the least significant. Some verbal ways of expressing causal relations can in an expanded form represent the causal and event components. The others express the causal and event components in a minimized, reduced form. Thus, the verbal ways of expressing causal relations form a hierarchy by the degree of explicitness of causal and event components in them.
