Abstract.
The article reveals the potential of structures with direct speech in spontaneous oral discourse. Constructions with direct speech are interwoven into communication not so much for accurate reproduction of their form and content, but in order to implement the intentions of the authors of statements, the information of interlocutors and their involvement in the situations of communication.
