MODERN TENDENCIES IN THE BRITISH INTONATION

Abstract.
The article is devoted to innovations in the intonation of the modern British variant of the English language: high rise ending in affirmative sentences (in combination with various scales) and intonation model consisting of low-level scale and medium-level ending. The paper examines in detail the meanings of these intonation models depending on situations. These innovations were identified while analyzing the British feature films.
