Abstract.
The article examines the images marked by Germanness in the stories by Sasha Chorny “The Technicians”, “Dispute” and “Peacemaker” relating to the artistic presentation of the First World War. In the manner typical for the author this theme is re-interpreted in the spirit of a fabulous element, representing the military events in the grotesque fantastic form. Overcoming the traumatizing experience of a cruel, manifesting itself in absurd appearance reality is carried out by appealing to the image of a soldier who triumphs over the enemies due to his native wit and courage.
