Abstract.
The phonetic analysis of the Arabic borrowings in the Bakhtiyaryi dialect of Qal’eh-ye Tul (Khuzestan) is presented in this article. It is mentioned that most of the Arabic lexemes borrowed by the Persian language, and then by the Bakhtiyary dialect underwent not only semantic, but also significant phonetic changes: some Arabic sounds were replaced by other ones and some words lost the phonemes. Lexical material in terms of semantic relatedness was distributed into thematic groups.
