Abstract. The article considers the idea of “social collegiality”, realized in the final novel by Michael Prishvin “Tsar’s Road”. This is a novel of “reconciliation”, which showed the way out of the complex historical time, resolved in the spirit of Christianity; it is an attempt to eliminate the terrible bias in favour of the lack of spirituality in the background of universal equality. The key conception of the novel is analyzed by the example of the image of the former millionaire Volkov, who was able to combine the spirit and the flesh, faith in God and involvement into the world - “Christian socialism”.
