Abstract.
In the article the various approaches to the translation analysis of text which should preceded the translation itself and prevent possible mistakes in translation as well as improve the quality of translated texts are considered. The topicality of this theme is conditioned by the need to teach students - future translators not just to translate text word for word but to convey the meaning of the text and the author's message to potential readers.
