Abstract.
The article is devoted to the relevant for today problem of modeling the process of understanding a text, and, in particular, the role of anticipation in this process. The special attention is paid to the experimental modeling of the period of anticipation during understanding a text in a foreign language. The basic content of the article is the analysis of the findings of the conducted experiment on text understanding. The paper also contains certain recommendations on the work with the text in a foreign language with the technical higher schools students.
