ON THE INNOVATION OF AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL GENRE IN L. N. TOLSTOY’S TRILOGY

Abstract.
The article analyzes the essence of L. N. Tolstoy’s innovative contribution in the development of artistic autobiography genre ("Childhood", "Boyhood", "Youth"). The author reveals the concept content of the synthetical character of genre forms used by Tolstoy. While recognizing N. G. Chernyshevskiy’s thesis about "soul dialectics" demonstration wherein the novelty of Tolstoiys method is expressed, the thought of the importance of "ethical" and "poetic" ideas symbiosis turned to be Tolstoy’s opening is proved. The study concludes that the creator of trilogy is seeking "universal summarizing" or the ontological depth of his life story thanks to such techniques as "parts pettiness" and "generalized insertions".
