Abstract.
The problem of women’s emancipation is represented in the creative work of the most Russian writers of the second half of the XIX century. This issue was one of the most important, relevant, popular, widely discussed in the fiction and in the scientific literature, journalism, private correspondence, diaries, because woman had an unequal legal, economical, political, social, cultural status and Russian intellectual thought couldn’t ignore this problem. Z. N. Gippius wasn’t an exception; in her small prose she examines the social changes in the relations between man and woman at the beginning of the XX century.
