Abstract.
An attempt is made to explain the essence of the modern state of the Yakut language, to point out the topical zones of its functioning depending on the socio-linguistic parameters and to evaluate the language by the modern language speakers in the conditions of the active language competition of the Russian and the Yakut languages. Socio-linguistic and psycho-linguistic methods are used in the research of the quality of the oral and written Yakut speech on the republican television and revealing a socio-linguistic portrait of a modern editor and presenter.
