THE FUNCTIONING OF MYTHONYMS IN GERMAN AND RUSSIAN FAIRY TALES

Abstract.
In the article the term “mythonym” is described and the functioning of mythonyms by the example of folklore texts is considered. Special attention is paid to the comparison of some mythonyms in German and Russian fairy tales, the peculiarities of their functioning are studied, as well as the attempt to identify the national and cultural specificity of German and Russian mythonyms is made.
