“THEORY OF DRAMA” BY ELIAS CANETTI AS A PHILOLOGICAL PROBLEM

Abstract.
The article focuses on such aspect in the creative work of the Austrian writer Elias Canetti as dramaturgy, the specifics and originality of which involves the development of the so called “theory of drama”. The essence of the theory is the thesis that each play should be based on the idea (theme) concerning the interpersonal and social relations, and the action of each play unfolds due to the ‘transformations” occurring in the characters and to the “acoustic masks” typical for each personage.
