Abstract. The article is devoted to the study and comparison of the linguo-culturological properties of phraseological units of the semantic field “money” and “Geld” by the material of the English and German languages. The article presents the author’s classification of phraseological units, analyzes the examples in terms of national features. The results show that, despite some quantitative differences in thematic classification, there are similarities between the use of cultural and philological heritage of two nations.
