Abstract.
The article is devoted to the analysis of one of German lexemes, referring to the thematic group “fashion” in the framework of a linguocultural approach. By the example of the lexeme STIEFEL the authors conduct the analysis of the etymology of the word and single out the linguocultural aspects of the development of meaning. The results of the present research testify about the necessity of conducting the analysis of nominations and cultural objects, denoted by them, with the purpose of revealing their translation correspondences, taking into consideration the national-cultural specificity of denotations.
