Abstract.
The article reveals how in the Ossetian prose of the 70-80s of the XX century the complex, sometimes contradictory processes occurred that cause significant changes and transformations in the traditional epic genres, and the appearance of new genre forms with their structural, stylistic and narrative features. The purpose of the study is to show that the novel, as well as the Ossetian prose in general, forming the human conception, comes primarily from the social and historical relations and the moral and ethical notions of the society about a man of the specific era. The Ossetian prose and, in particular, the novel of G. Bitsoev convincingly proved that the possibility of a human spiritual manifestation is endless.
