Abstract.
The article defines the similarities and differences of the orthographic systems of the Russian and Kabardian languages. The authors consider that the work on teaching pupils of a primary Kabardian School the Russian orthography must be based on the comparison of the Russian and Kabardian orthographies and the consideration of the interfering influence of the orthography of the native language on learning the orthography of the Russian language by primary pupils.
