Abstract.
The article aims to explore political discourse of the USA President B. Obama by the material of the press-conference at the White House on July, 18, 2014. The authors analyze the techniques to use certain lexemes to efficiently influence the listeners. The special attention is paid to the formation of the negative attitude to the Russian Federation in the society. On the basis of the conducted research the authors identify the basic presuppositions typical for the political discourse of the USA President which allow concluding on the intentions and actions of this politician in the world arena.
