Abstract.
The article focuses on the Past Tense formation in the Upper Karakh dialect of the Avar language and its temporal shades. The Upper Karakh dialect refers to the Karakh dialect of the southern dialect of the Avar language and manifests considerable variability of the formants in the formation of the Past Tense forms. To express Past Tense the dialect, along with many Dagestan languages including literary Avar, uses synthetic and analytical forms.
