THE TYPOLOGY OF THE TRAITOR IMAGE IN EPOS

Abstract.
The article is devoted to the study of three different literary monuments: the ancient Azerbaijani legend “Astyages”, the French heroic epic “The Song of Roland”, and the German heroic epic “The Song of the Nibelungs”. In the works the necessity of the use of the psychoanalytic method in the process of comparing the image of the traitor in the epos is revealed and grounded. The subject of this research is the typological similarity of the images of Harpagus (“Astyages”), Ganelon (“The Song of Roland”) and Hagen (“The Song of the Nibelungs”). The author concludes that the epic heroes mainly the images of the traitor as archetypes accumulate the features identified as the result of the recurrence of the same experience.
