Abstract.
The article touches on the problem of motivation of the terms of the sphere of biotechnologies by the material of the Russian and English languages. The author provides comparative quantitative data on the representation of the different types of motivation of the terms of the sphere of biotechnologies in the Russian and English languages. The researcher concludes on the dominance of morphological type of motivation of the terms of the mentioned sphere and identifies the tendency to combine different types of motivation within the framework of the same term.
