Abstract.
The article discusses semantic characteristic of the names of atmospheric phenomena and precipitation in the Turkish and Yakut languages. Lexical parallels are classified into the two groups: 1) bases without semantic shifts; 2) bases with certain semantic differences. The research is focused basically on the total number of Yakut-Turkish parallels and the correlation between them and ancient Turkic language.
