Abstract.
The article is devoted to the relevant in the modern literary criticism problem of artistic originality of the battle-scene lyrics by V. I. Maykov, the famous poet of the XVIII century. The special attention is paid to the process of formation of a battle ode genre. The paper examines genre peculiarities of the battle-scene works of the poet and the nature of Lomonosov’s and Sumarokov’s influence on his creative work.
