Abstract.
The article examines the question of a role of the author in the novella by the Khakass scholar, pedagogue, participant of the Great Patriotic War D. I. Chankov “My Injury is still Hurting Me…”. For the first time the novella is introduced into the scientific use, it hasn’t been translated into the Russian language and hasn’t become the object of a scientific interest. The author substantiates the statement that the types of subjects in the literary work - the author-creator, the author’s image, the character - are united by the author’s consciousness, revealed in each component of the text and the literary whole of the novella.
