Abstract.
The article is devoted to the comparative analysis of the phraseological units of the German and Russian youth slang the internal image of which is based on metaphor. The researcher identifies the metaphorical images, discovers the linguocultural peculiarities of their usage and functioning in the structure of the phraseological units of the German and Russian youth slang and describes the basic types of motivation of the phraseological units. The analysis justifies the close relation of metaphors to the world-view of a linguocultural community.
