Abstract.
The article examines some aspects of linguistic study of an outstanding representative of an early Latin linguistic tradition Lucius Aelius Stilo, one of the least studied Roman grammarians. Having conducted the analysis of survived fragments from grammatical essays of Stilo, the author comes to the conclusion about the affiliation of this philologist to the followers of Stoic linguo-philosophical tradition. Also special attention is paid to the problem of potential authorship of Stilo concerning the grammatical text “Anecdoton Parisinum”.
