Abstract. The article provides critical discourse-analysis of the speeches by the British prime-minister David Cameron devoted to the theme of Ukrainian crisis and Crimean referendum. The author shows what linguistic means participate in developing the image of Russia and European Union and their role in the Ukrainian events of 2014. The paper also discovers how they form the conception of Russia as a state-aggressor, a source of potential danger for the European countries.
