SOCIAL AND POLITICAL EUPHEMISMS IN THE ENGLISH POLITICAL DISCOURSE

Abstract.
The article describes social and political euphemisms in the English political discourse which become increasingly prevalent in the speech of the representatives of power. In this group of euphemisms the author identifies and describes the most important subgroups of euphemistic vocabulary and provides examples of their use in speech. The research focuses on finding euphemisms-synonyms in the English political discourse. The findings justify the thesis that using politically correct words and euphemisms is an integral component of the modern political discourse.
