Abstract.
The article illustrates the distinctive difficulties of conveying the connotation while translating literary texts from the English language into the Russian. In the paper the comparative analysis of literary texts and their translations is conducted, the means of revealing connotations in the process of translation and means, which are used for transfer of connotative meanings of lexemes, are examined.
