BALTISMS IN THE MODERN RUSSIAN LANGUAGE AS A SEMANTIC FIELD

Abstract.
The article examines the borrowings from the Baltic languages in the modern Russian language as an autonomous semantic field analysis of which allows identifying the key characteristics of perceiving the Baltic semantic “topos”: Baltisms as a phenomenon associated into the Russian vocabulary and culture, as a relic of historical and cultural interaction, and the importance of Baltic vocabulary in the Russian language.
