Abstract.
The article defines and reveals socio-phonetic variations of the English language in Washington, District of Columbia. The key objective of the study is the description of significant theoretical and practical aspects of social and phonetic variance in the English language by the example of Washington and the examination of the works, devoted to the analysis of this question in contemporary linguistics.
