Abstract.
The article examines the formation of the students’ research competences in the Humanities classroom; the author points out that humanitarian component promotes the development of creative ability as the basic one among the professionals of any sphere, including engineering; the paper explores the basic means and forms of the classroom and extra-curriculum activity aimed to develop analytical skills and critical thinking; the researcher provides the samples of the tutorials on the discipline “History” based on the developmental teaching methods.
