Abstract. The article examines the problem of influence and adoption in the literary process by the example of the creative work of the medieval Azerbaijan poet Nizami. As a result of the research it is found out that in the Turkic literatures, in spite of a territorial and temporal distance, linguistic and confessional barriers, imitations and rehashes of his khamseh have appeared.
