Abstract.
The article examines the problems associated with the social functions of the modern literary Dargin language. In this connection the author explores all the spheres in which the Dargin language is used, identifies the weak and strong positions of its functioning in the different spheres. The researcher justifies the conclusions that the literary Dargin language is represented unevenly in all the spheres of communication and requires promotion through the language policy.
