PROBLEM OF LANGUAGE FUNCTIONING AT THE MODERN DEVELOPMENTAL STAGE OF OUR SOCIETY

Abstract. The article analyzes the modern linguistic situation in Russia, identifies the certain causes influencing negatively the human verbal practice. The author justifies the necessity for conscious language policy aimed to preserve the integrity of language and to increase people’s educational level. The paper introduces the means allowing increasing the interest for reading fiction among the young generation. The special attention is paid to the negative changes occurred in phonetics, vocabulary, morphology and syntax.
