Abstract.
The Russian scientists explored the epos “The Book of My Grandfather Korkut”. They compare its images with the examples of other Turkic people’s folklore and propose the classification of epos images according to the following features: woman - man, profession, age, blood relation, friend - enemy, positive heroes - negative heroes whose names are not mentioned, mythological and historical images, heroes’ names. The classification allows examining the everyday life, culture, traditions, social relations of the Turkic peoples of the Middle Ages.
