COGNITIVE FUNCTION OF AUTHOR’S ORIGINAL PUNCTUATION IN THE MODERNISTIC POETICAL TEXT

Abstract.
The article examines the role of author’s original punctuation in the German poetical text of Modernism Epoch. Deviation from the norm and “ambiguity” of the text can be considered as the basic features determining this epoch. The author argues that in the poetical text of the XIX - beginning of the XX century punctuation is not a subsidiary tool for the reader but it rather tends to complicate the understanding of a text and becomes an implementation of a poet’s deeply personal worldview.
