THE PLACE AND ROLE OF AN ERROR IN THE LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT

Abstract.
The article provides a description of the linguistic units which appear as a result of misperception of a certain name and which fix themselves in the language as the legitimate elements of its system. Adopted in the language, they start manifesting their activity. Some of them continue to function distorting the human conceptions on a certain phenomenon of the past, others introduce the corrections into the system of obligatory realizations; the third participate more or less actively in the word-formative or other linguistic processes. The proposed provisions are illustrated by the examples from the two languages: Russian and English. This emphasizes the international nature of misperception and its consequences.
