Abstract.
The article explicates the initiation ritual artistically transformed in the story by Z. Kankulov “Lost in the City”. The author identifies the motive features tracing back to this ritual. Among the most evident features the researcher mentions passing the initiation levels, the presence of a guide, the initiation sign, the image of a road, experiencing the metaphysical death.
